Alumex is a fast growing business corporate in the construction industry in Sri Lanka, and is planning to expand its operations in the South Asian Region whilst increasing its export market volumes. Applications are called from suitable candidates to fill the following vacancy at our manufacturing facility at Sapugaskanda, Makola.

Coordinator – Export Operations

Job Summary: Responsible for follow-up of export orders with production, planning and logistics departments in order to ensure smooth delivery of international customer orders. Follow-up the export documentation and shipments with coordination of the relevant stakeholders. To coordinate all the shipment arrangements and relevant documentation by obtaining approval from relevant authorities and ensuring smooth shipment arrangements at scheduled times.

The main job functions of this position will include:

  • Review orders, to determine exporting priorities, ensure fulfillment accuracy, completeness, condition on the packaging, & facilities required to meet the export order delivery schedules.
  • Ensure timely and accurate arrangement of export documentation and certificates.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of the shipment and inform customers in advance of any delays.
  • Prepare the relevant shipping documents, costing sheets and coordinate with relevant government and non-governmental organizations to get necessary approvals.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly management information reports and presentations.
  • Maintain departmental deliverables within the service limits, timelines set by the management.

We seek a dedicated, result oriented young individual with good design ability, communication skills, and sound personal attributes for the aforementioned position.
The suitable candidate should possess:

  • GCE Advanced Level Qualification.
  • Very good knowledge in Shipping procedures, freight forwarding, and export operations, and terminology
  • Two (02) years’ experience within a trade environment with exposure to export operations in the manufacturing industry would be a distinct advantage.
  • Professional part qualification or Diploma in Supply Chain Management or export operations from a recognized institute will be an added advantage.
  • Working knowledge of the ERP environment would be an added advantage.
  • Have good verbal and written Sinhala & English language proficiency.
  • Preference will be given to candidates residing in close proximity to Kadawatha, Kiribathgoda, Kelaniya, Biyagama or Peliyagoda areas.
