Executive – Research & Development

Job Summary: Responsible for assigned research and development activities of the department from product and application technologies development, to the development of introductory technologies related to material design and manufacturing processes. Develop leading edge products, which meet and exceed customer requirements whilst ensuring operational safety and product reliability

The main job functions of this position will include:

Carry out new product developments and extensions to current products and processes based on the input from internal business teams.
Executing multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors to generate high quality, cost effective solutions.
Providing inputs for process and product costing while coordinating with IE and Finance teams.
Coordinating internal and external work packages in the fields of product and component testing, simulation and material investigations and support the relevant divisions during execution.
Research work on material, products, technologies and processes and cater to business needs while implementing required changes and improvements.
Follow up New Product Development process and maintain project trackers for ongoing projects.
Coordinate with outsourced parties and supplier sites for new product initiation related activities and guide them during sample manufacturing along with QC teams.
Visit customer sites and meetings to identify product requirements and deliver results within stipulated project deadlines.

We seek a dedicated, result oriented young individual with good design ability, communication skills and sound personal attributes for the aforementioned position.

The suitable candidate should possess:

B Sc. Degree in Material / Chemical / Process Engineering from a recognized University.
Minimum 02-03 Years’ hands on experience in research & development role in a related manufacturing industry.
Have good verbal and written Sinhala & English language proficiency.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Excellent analytical and logical reasoning skills.
Excellent project management skill.
